The Dominium Necklace Size Guide

Where it falls is part of the design.

A few centimetres change everything — from a pendant that rests on the collarbone to one that frames an open collar. See how each length sits, then choose yours.

How Each Length Sits

18″ · 45 cm — Classic

Falls just below the collarbone. The most popular length for pendants.

Lengths are measured end to end, including the clasp. A pendant hangs a little lower than the chain.

Three Ways to Choose

Find your length at home.

01Most accurate

Measure one you love

Lay a necklace you already wear flat and straight. Measure from end to end, including the clasp. That's your length.

02

Drape a string

Hang a piece of string around your neck and let it fall to where you'd like the necklace to sit. Mark it, lay it flat and measure.

Look in a mirror — what you see is how the chain will fall.

03

Start from your neck

Measure around the base of your neck, then add at least 5 cm (2″) for a comfortable minimum. Add more for a lower drop.

Choosing Well

A few things to keep in mind.

Pendants add drop

A pendant hangs below the chain. Larger pieces and lockets look best a little lower, where they have room to rest flat.

Lockets

We usually suggest 20–24″ (50–60 cm) for a locket, so it sits clear of the collarbone and is easy to open.

Layering

Leave about 5 cm (2″) between each necklace so the pieces don't tangle — for example 16″, 18″ and 20″.

Your neckline

Choose a length that sits above or clearly below the neckline you wear most. A chain that meets a collar tends to get lost.

Your build

The same chain sits higher on a broader neck or chest, and lower on a slimmer frame. If you're between lengths, choose the longer one.
